    I guess I only saw the reflections (above water) lower half was covered in gunk. I solved earlier, but got busy before posting.

    Note about the now officially-biter "Question Everything a Lot" runt:

    Would be kinda weird to explain its answers, except to say a lot of em are multiple words, and all their clues are tongue-in-cheek hints of the "desperate" persuasion, duly punctuated with the ??'s.

    Thought the first "Question Everything" runt would be a biter, but you test solvers made surprisinly short work of that pup. Soooo ... M&A decided to up the ante with the second one, but probably overdid the challenge by a bite or two. Apologies for yer 15 minutes or so of sufferin.
